The Gitksan Government Commission Finance Department
provides accounting and reporting procedures internally
as well as providing advisory services and hands
on assistance to our five member bands: Gitanmaax,
Glen Vowell, Kispiox, Gitwangak and Gitanyow.
GGC is the financing flow through and provides accounting
services to the following Gitksan affiliated organizations:
Gitxsan Residential Healing Society, Gitxsan Wet'suwet'en
Education Society, Gitxsan Wet'suwet'en Economic
Development Society, Gitxsan Youth Healing Lodge,
Gitxsan Child & Family Services Society, Anspayaxw
Education Society, Gitanyow Independent School,
Gitwangak Education Society and Gitsegukla School.
The Department employs two people:

Diane McRae, Manager
Diane is responsible for:
the district budget, provides advice and guidance
on financial management systems, procedures
and principles to Chiefs', councils and administrations
of the member bands and affiliated organizations,
development of financial and administrative
policies and practices to promote the skills
of personnel and ensures sound and consistent
application of such, acts as a resource in
the overall improvement of financial management
skills of the people and is the liaison officer
with bands and professional auditors.

Elizabeth Harris, Assistant
Elizabeth is the internal
bookkeeper and is responsible for the reporting
and carrying out of day to day operations
for GGC and affiliated organizations.
